Double-Digit Subtraction with Regrouping

We are working on Double-Digit Subtraction in math.  This can be a headache (if you know what I mean).  This year, I have been doing my own teaching (versus the math series).  I feel like my kids have gotten double-digit subtraction more this year than before.
Here are a few tips and tricks that I have used in my room this year.

1.  I introduced the until by watching several youtube videos.  You can find the links to these videos here

Next, we use an interactive video (along with the worksheet) to complete the next lesson.  You can download the worksheet here or by clicking on the picture below.  We also pulled out the manipulatives to complete this worksheet.  Instead of using base ten blocks, I used unifix cubes.  I like using them because the kids can actually can break them apart.

Finally, I created resources of my own that I have been using.  My students love technology, moving, and QR codes.  I created Center Stretches with QR Codes (and without) for my students to practice double-digit subtraction.  They loved these little tasks.  You can download them from my store here.

Want to have fun and practice double-digit subtraction at the same time? This is a great resource to incorporate math, QR code activities, and fun all into one. This can be used in a center, small group, or during station time. Check out how my kids are enjoying these fun and engaging task cards during small group work.

Have a great Week!  God Bless!
